State’s Attorney – “Prosecutors”

In bail hearings, an Assistant State’s Attorney (aka “the prosecutor”), asks the judge to keep the defendant in a specific setting until trial. For example, they can ask the judge to keep the defendant in jail until they have to appear in court for trial.

During all bail hearings, all defendants are legally innocent.
